Black and white are colors - John Alton has stated, and no cinematographer in film history has more deeply explored the value of those colors, or the nature of the violent contrast between them, than has John Alton. 
- I could see more in the dark than I could in color. -

 * It's probably a good idea to spend at least a year concentrating on black and white photography, before shooting in color. It is a source of discovery and expression. 

 * Certainly every photographer should learn to work in both black and white and color. You may choose to use one more than the other, but you should get to know both.

 * I've heard a lot of people say that color photography is harder than black and white photography. It is no more difficult and no easier; no more or less important, artistic, or expressive than black and white.

Here is a brief summary of what to expect from your administrators:

:bulletblue: =Ravyre is uploading flash lessons as often as possible. Currently she is upgrading the current lessons to be more education. Stroke orders for Hiragana and Katana are on the way. :dummy:

:bulletpurple: ~789lol is currently working on a guide to the popular language learning DS game, My Japanese Coach, and you can find it in our group with a folder cunningly titled "Tania's Guide to My Japanese Coach". :hooray:

:bulletorange: ~TheVampireNeko is currently living in Japan and is working on writing some Japanese learning and Japan related blogs for us all to read and enjoy. :la:

:bulletred: ~LearningJapanese is currently working on a whole series of lessons teaching many different aspects of the Japanese language. She ranges from simple stroke orders to complex Kanji. :wow:

:bulletgreen: ~misshoneyvanity is currently working on a variety of Japanese lessons with cute images to accompany the learning process. :eager:


If you have any Japan related art then we'd love for you to upload it and show it off in our gallery. :dalove:

We don't have many rules, and we have tried to be as flexible as possible, but the few we have made we'd appreciate if you could follow perfectly. :meow:
